Pulling off the heater control knobs and prising things apart is not a very "Toyota" way of doing it!!

Let us know how you get on... I am going to get around to doing mine at some point, and that’s the first relevant guide or any info on it that I have seen!

I hate working with trim plastics... lots of hidden screws and tabs to snap!

Edit: well the knobs pull off easy and the backing feels like it'll pop out ok... was bored and had a fiddle in my lunch break...

One thing to look out for is if you run an auto be careful not to knock the mechanisms around the shifter, the bit that controls the ignition key release can bugger up if disturbed...

Hi, thanks for the link, as it happened, i receeived the new stereo and just went ahead and found my way..pretty simple and quick..and i didnt remove the 1st 2 screws as per article..and still managed to remove the trim around the gear levers.

The heater display trim is flimsy but popped off easy enough. All in all, about half an hour to change the stereo.

Damm sight easier than my subaru..where most of the dash trim had to be removed!
