I've been looking into buying a Rav4 for a while so thought I'd join here to see if I can find some more info. I've been reading lots over the past few days and what I've read has only confirmed that the Rav4 is the car for me. I'm used to sporty little cars with my current cars being MGF and Honda Integra but its time for the MGF to go and to be replaced by something more practical as my dog no longer fits in the MGF anymore

I've got some criteria so it might take me a little while to find exactly what I want but I'm in no real rush since my current car will sell better come the warmer months.

Hi

I'm new on here too, I often read the info but never reply to anyone but i had to yours. I like you had an mgf last year and I traded it in for a small two door rav 4. Best thing I ever did. It's been a great car and so much nicer to drive in the winter months lol. So dont delay buy a Rav 4 today!!

Banana ? welcome to TOC, witha handle like that you will probably fit in the nuthouse that is the Rav forum

just nicely.

Hi Lisa, think I welcomed you in the new members forum, anyway what exactly is it you are looking for ? 3 or 5

doors, petrol or diesel ? There are loads of usefull threads on here to help you make your mind up. Start with the

Rav 4 photos thread by a member called Bob King, there is also a thread on here (cant remember the name) but

it gives a history in photos of the various models of Rav. ie 4.1 (MK1) 4.2 (MK2) and 4.3 (MK3). I have recently

changed from a 4.2 to a 4.3, and I can honestly say it was the best car I ever had. If I can find the thread I will

add the shortcut here.

Happy hunting. ;)

Initially I preferred the 3 doors but unfortunately the boot space isn't enough for my dog so it would need to be the 5 door, I actually think I prefer the looks of the 5 door now anyway. It will be a 4.2 and my preference is diesel but if a petrol came along and it ticked all my other boxes then I'd go for that. My other boxes are leather interior and I would like it to be black...... I'm not fussy......honestly. I've read those threads before, I have been reading for a while
