Just self serviced my 2001 83000 Yaris, gave it...

Air Filter

Pollen Filter

Spark plugs

Oil Filter

Oil Change

Left to do......

Brake Fluid change.

Coolant flush and change....which brings me to my question, Do I have to un-screw the drain plug on the engine or can I drain the radiator and run the engine for a few seconds to pump out remaining water?, The coolant that is already in it is either red or pink I dont know which.

There is not a lot of coolant left in the block, just drain out the radiator and flush it through. The new coolant should be the red stuff, part number 08889-80002 in 5 Ltr bottles

Kingo

Rightly or wrongly I opened both drain plugs rad and block then refilled with plain water and run engine till warm and then drained . I repeated the proccess just to make sure all of the old stuff was out.Remember to put your heater knobs on hot setting!

Thanks for replies, I got the red stuff in 5ltr bottle, how hard is it to get to the engine block plug?

I manage to get a ring spanner on it, turned it 1/4 of a turn at a time untill the coolant started to flow (directing it into a container with a bit of hose pipe)
