Fog Light Replacement / Fuel Consumption

I've broken the glass fog light lens and have just bought a replacement. It looks like all I need to do is to undo part of the engine undertray to get to the light to replace it, but to be honest I've not really looked in great detail yet. Has anybody done this before and if so, can you confirm it's as easy as I think it is ? Alternatively feel free to tell me its impossible and that I need to get the dealer to do it next time it's in for a service.

Another comment too - the fuel range never tells me I'm going to get more than 450 miles out of a tank (2.2 diesel) yet the Mpg indicator tells me I'm getting 47-50 mpg. Range indicator is approaching zero way before this and in my old Seat I used to get 450 miles out of a tank with the guage claiming 42-43 mpg. So, espcially since I only get about 45L of fuel into a 55L tank when I fill it up I reckon that the range indicator is yankin my chain and that the car's good for at least another 50-75 miles once it's telling me there's only 10 left. Not had the car long yet, so have not had the balls to try out this theory but it seems to make sense. Anybody got any comments on this one ?

Regards

Peter

The foglamp should be pretty easy if you can get the verso high enough to remove some of the undertray and fiddle about with the fixings for the lamp.

Not had to changeone on the new verso yet myself but they are usually a hook one end and a screw/bolt on the other.

Always worth having a go though!

On the RANGE/MPG side of things they never seems to be accurate.

Mart.

Your fuel range and miles per gallon seems about right to me as this is the type of reading I am also getting

The miles per gallon seems to be based on the last 50 miles or so you have driven not on the whole tank but I may be wrong !!

Many Thanks for Reply

You summed it up nicely - remove some of the undertray and fiddle about with the fixings. For anybody else wanting to do the same thing you need to remove a bolt that allows you to take off the portion of the front / corner bumper - this gives you access to more bolts to undo so that you can pull back the black plastic and access the fog lamp. You then need to unclip the wire - it's a push in clip but easy to undo. The bulb assembly comes away from the fog lamo assembly by twisting. Then, the rest is the reverse - you just need to remember which bits of the black plastic go over and under which clips - otherwise it will not fit together that well. So, it's all sorted. Thanks again.
