Bling

Had a black T3 since late December. Wanting to "enliven" it. Wanted to whack a load of chrome on to set off the black but really there doesn't seem to be much out there (eBay). I'd especially like to do something with the door handles which just seem so dreary.

Bought a chrome "bee sting" aerial, and also a chrome strip for the bottom of the tailgate but can't seem to find much else to personalise the ol thing.

Can't even cover up the somewhat somber velour upholstery as Toyota says there are airbags in the seats (plus the Battery vent of course).

I'd lurve a chrome or different spoiler but can't find anything. Or maybe a huge lettering kit for the sides...

Found a company in the states that sells wood and funky trim to replace all the dashboard and door plastic but some how I wanted to go more bling than gentlemans club.

Has anyone done any superficial mods and do you have any idea where I can get some sparkle?!!!

Hi Habu,

Yes, I found that somehow but some of the things are soo expensive. I'm toying with the chrome bumper guard:

ext-rearbumperprotector.jpg

Which I sort of "need" as I have two dogs and the paint works isn't going to stay immaculate for long. That site also sells a rubber one for less than half the chrome one but my heart may over rule my internal bank manager.

I think some of them are kind of laughable, I mean who in the right mind wants one of these:

which you can apparently put up and down electronically...but I mean why would you want it?

Any other suggestions for bling sites very gratefully received!

Thank you again.

Jon

It's a corner finder. A light up visual aid to tell exactly where the nearside front corner is in relation to what you're about to scrape the bumper on in a tight spot. These were options for the Sera when it was made, but they were just acrylic poles that lit up.......not retractable ! I saw one last year on a new Nissan Cube.

They do look odd in standard form, but these retractable ones are very smart - a massive improvement on the 'mini-flagpole' that they used to be !.

I fancy this B)

http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/e/comp/prius/c..._p/u_p_r_f.html

and these...go to Products / Wheels / Eco Drive. Wheels are just for Prius and look stunning

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/indexe.html

Hmm, that first item looks a tad technical to me....and in a Prius...not sure "performance" is a word that natuarally springs to mind. But the wheels I like. I went thru loads of hassle with my old car upgrading it to fancy 17" alloys. The car looked stunning but the ride was so compromised. It was quite nice to get in the Prius and have a smoother ride but I was still surprised how it reactes to bumps etc. Well it did until I incorrectly set the tyre pressures to 29, now it's much better but fear it isn't good for the tyres...

Cheers,

Jon
