New Tyres

hi, ive just joined your owners club not realising one existed till i happened to stumble across it on the net! and it looks great!

i have a 2002 t sport and feel its time to renew the front tyres. i presently have michelin pilot primacy 195 55 all round on 16" wheels which came with the car at purchase 2 years ago.

i find the handling pretty lousy lately and am afraid to turn off the traction control in the wet- could this be due to the type of tyre, bearing in mind they were brand new on mega wheel rims.

for some unknown reason the previous owner had new rims and tyres put on the car not long before selling it to brooklyn at hereford where i purchased it, so i wondered if it could be wear, the alloys or make of tyre and would be grateful for any advice and pointers as to whether to get better alloys and tyres or if the traction being on giving unconfident handling round corners is the cause.

kind regards,ardbrand

This all depends on how much the car is lowered. Remember as the car is lowered and / or the wheels are changed the angle of tyre touching the road this can change the wear pattern in the tyre, before anyone can really answer your question you need to see if the wheels are on a tilt (camber) and then look on www.mytyres.com and buy some nice ones and pay a local garage to fit them... works out a lot cheaper
