Electric Windows

Hi all,

Can I ask the collective wisdom out there a question with regards to electric windows... I was driving last night with the window down - pressed the button to bring the window up - and it went about half way - stopped and went down again, tried this several times - each with the same result - left if alone for a while - pressed the up button - and this time the window closed completely - now I don't want to use the window until I can figure out what has gone wrong - any ideas out there????

Drop the window and squirt in some Mr Sheen or similar silicone polish into the runners. Work the window up and down to get it into the runners and free it up. If the motor senses resistance it will assume something is trapped and back the window off.

Yeh just squirt it down the sides where the window runs. Don't take anything off just lower the window and squirt as much of the side runners (the felt/rubber bit which guides the glass) as you can - from top to bottom. Sometimes an accumilation of dirt will cause the glass to bind on those runners and that loads the motor.
