Tyre Choices - Seeking Advice

My 2007 D4D 180PS is coming up for its first service shortly and I'm expecting to need new front tyres, having covered around 20,000kms on the originals. Does anyone have a view on the best compromise between performance and long life for this model? I live in the south of France where the roads are quite twisty and fairly abrasively surfaced. This tends to shorten tyre lifespan quite significantly on a powerful, FWD vehicle like mine. Thanks in advance for any advice.
