Radio (rt) Installation Advice Please

I have a couple of RT's to install in the Surf that I had in my Mazda, and was after advice on placement and aerial routing. My initial thought was to install the RT's on a bracket (to be made) in behind the panel near the relay for the rear door. There's a bit of space there and they wouldn't get in the way of anything else - these are remote head units BTW. Aerial routing then becomes the next concern with getting to the roof without too much damage. The roof is the prefered location for ground plane and coverage and I would probably mount the aerials on a basic Roof Rack. Thoughts? Suggestions? Done this before?
