Ok I thought it would be a bit of fun to see why people bought their Aygo, although I am confident I know what will be the most popular answer, I think it would be fun to see, and maybe even prove me wrong. SO PLEASE VOTE!! You can vote more than 1 choice as you may have more than one reason.

I have put as many reasons as I could think of but happy to add more if you reply in topic, or if its quite an unusual reason then click other and explain.

I will share my reason for buying my first Aygo..which btw was my 1st car...I never looked at any cars while i was taking lessons, didnt want to curse my test or get hopes up, but the test centre in Lincoln is almost next door to the Toyota Garage and the night before my test I was out practising around that area and noticed Toyota had a BIG banner up saying new Aygo for £159 per month, I had never considered that i could afford a new car at all but thought hmmm I can afford that.....so went next day did test and passed, was sooo happy I ran straight over to the Toyota garage and asked for a test drive of the Aygo, I was soo nervous on the test drive that I would crash I wasnt really paying that much attention to anything else like the salesman telling me its was cheap to run etc.., and I dont think the salesman realised when I said I had just passed my test what I meant..so half round test drive he said "so when did you past your test?" I said "about an hour ago" he went silent....and then said "you brave for test driving a new car then?" and I said "your brave for letting me :)" and I signed up then and there. I did think in hinesight that I did rush into it and didnt look at any other cars, but have done since then and I have now moved onto my second Aygo "The Blue" cos its just soo much fun to drive and cheap to run and I do 25k miles a year so it did have to be taken into account its also easy to park, and had bluetooth..:lol2:

Along with my votes I ticked "Other". One Main "Other" reason was I saw them playing footie with it on Top Gear! (and my Veccie was getting old and increasingly expensive to run, and you couldn't get a RHD Twingo then) so quite a few "Others" really.

I think I should add the football option one, soo many ppl refer to that when they ask me what car I got!

and sorry urm twingo

keep voting!!!

results are on parr what I thought tho who clicked I couldnt afford a Yaris :lol2:

Went for all sorts of reasons!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously we were looking for a Toyota  n were attracted by the cheap road tax etc. We went along with my Celica n saw the Aygo in the showroom. I have always wanted a smaller car n I liked the look of it. So Les (Giddlepin) went for the test drive - cos it wouldn't have been any good if he couldn't drive it comfy and we found out how roomy it is inside!!! Also he said it performed better than he expected...................and we were sold on the car straight away :D , Oh and they gave us a very good part exchange on the Celica too B)

ok, i clicked a few options ... the reason I bought mine was because It used to belong to the boyf and I fell in love with it and so when he was selling it , i took out a staff loan (ahhh the perks of a bank job) and well the rest is history :D

Because i didnt want to risk getting caught stealing one

Seriously though, i bought mine as its the most sensible and clever car on the road :)

The design is awesome and everything is laid out in a clever way.

The MPG is awesome, the tax and insurance and running costs are nothing and the handling is great. Also there is room for 4 adults and a weeks shopping.

At £7k new its a fricken steal!

I love my Aygo, and have never regretted buying it. Although I don't think anyone is as quite in love with their Aygo as you, Sarah

I initially went to buy a Peugeot 107. But my local dealer was not the most helpful, and didn't seen to want to sell me a car.

So, I called in to the Toyota dealer, and the experience was a totally refreshing change.

It didn't matter that I was buying an entry level car, I was a valued customer, and felt as such.

I only wanted a basic red Aygo, but was drawn to the Black edition that was sat in the showroom. A spirited test drive later,( I love scaring salesmen :D ), and the deal was done.

I think the Aygo it a better looking car than the 107, and are certainly more exclusive. The residual value is also better which is a good plus point.

It's just a shame that Toyota don't offer as many genuine accesories as Peugeot and Citroen.

I never intended to modify mine, as that was not the reson for buying it. But I have too many bits and bobs in the garage, and too many ideas.

Besides, you don't want your Aygo to be the same as anyone elses. Because your own, is just that little bit more special

We wanted the smallest five door car with aircon. Aygo fitted the bill and with the options we wanted was cheaper than the C1 and 107 - it's also the best looking!

Yes its me who wanted the Yaris but I could not afford the repayments and now I'm left thinking what am I going to do when I've got kids!? Can you really get a baby in there with all its stuff (inc. pram) and its a 3 door!!? On the upside, the MPG is amazing!!

The main reason for me was the cheap running costs.

I had a Swift 1.5 GLX previous to the Aygo and although it was an awesome car, I cover a lot of miles every day for work and the weekly petrol bill alone was killing me!

Other:

Learnt in one and passed first time in it :D

Fell in love with it so had to get 1 :P

Thats what worries me! Not only will I have the fuss of having a kid and all the usual that goes with it, I've got to go pram shopping to find one that will go into an Aygo where the frame bit can fit in the boot. Its amazing what one small baby requires. Still, my best friend next week is travelling across England with a 5-6 month old on a train so if she can carry all the necessary stuff, its got to fit in an Aygo!!

I do worry that perhaps I should have got a Yaris even though the Aygo is lovely. At the time I wasn't looking that far ahead but who does look 2/3 years into the future? Is a 07 Aygo with 2020 miles on the clock worth much as a part ex (and I have an outstanding finance deal).

Miss d bus....if you love ya aygo you will find ways and means to make baby stuff fit around it - I had 2 dorr fiesta - I would say I hope you got a five door tho, and you will be amazed what collopsable stuff you can get for babies, and if and when the times comes you need to part exchange am sure it you will get good deal :)

regarding the

"and sorry urm twingo"

It was wifey who wanted one of those. We do quite a few day trips to France, and we first saw (thousands) of them over there. As they didn't do RHD ones, it has worked out better in the end , as once she saw her Aygo, she fell in love with that, and that is why we have one today.

Well, I was going to buy a new car and part-ex the Yaris in.... was going to buy a Gen 7 Celica but fell in love with the Aygo Blue when I went to a dealership by chance and sat in one - said there and then I wanted to get one!

Said I'd only do it if I got a good deal and exactly what I wanted - managed to get the Aygo Blue I wanted, with the registration number of my choice and the Style Pack & 3 Years Servicing thrown in to the deal both for free, so the Celica went out the window! :P

I could have afforded a bigger car but I chose to get a smaller one! Plus obviously the good economy and cheap tax/insurance etc helped the decision along!

I love the look of the car, I love that it's deceptive and surprises people with it's style and space - that its a joy to drive and an ease to park - I love the firmer ride and wholly believe it beats the Yaris hands down with the ride quality - plus the body roll is so much less than than of the Yaris without losing much of the space - yes the engine is smaller but the car is lighter. ;) Plus it carries with it so much more credibility than my Yaris ever did - I say I drive an Aygo and so many people amaze me by saying how cool they think it is!

Aygo Rocks!
