Engine Management Light

My Engine light has been on and off for around a month now. I had the car serviced by a main dealer recently, but as luck would have it, it didn’t switch on. The main dealer felt it would be nothing serious as the car is running fine, and the fact it disappears means that the problem fixed itself. Can anyone tell me some basic things to check? I have a 1.8vt Corolla Verso on an 02 plate.

Also can anyone recommend a Toyota mechanic in the Ruislip area? Many thanks for any reply in advance.

You might want to read my post of last December 'Rodents eat my Toyota' as my warning light, like yours came on and off. I hope that it's just a loose connection in your case as you would not want my experience. Please keep us posted with your findings.

That rodent stuff is pretty bad luck but not unusual. I'm an electronic engineer and have come across mice eating away the plastic on cables. I would think the previous owner garaged the car overnight which has mice.

Many thanks.

Regards
