To Find An Honest Reconditioner

Hi Everyone!

I am searching for an honest engine reconditioner after a long and stressful experience with one not so honest.

The ideal situation for me would be someone who was willing to do the job and write a report of their findings re.,the standard of the "reconditioning" carried out previously by another firm, and the reasons for oil loss at speeds of 70m.p.h. and 85m.p.h. and why the car was pinking and has now burned out a valve. Then i would be able to recoup my expenses via the small claims court.

As it stands i'm between a rock and a hard place:i have a car which is limping on three cylinders and since the crank went last summer-(and presumably,before-since that probably was the reason the crank went)-it has lost oil either through the breather,(which i was told was because the rocker cover needed replacing),out of the new rocker cover onto the road(this was "repaired" four times)and in the manner described in para one since these routes were blocked-in other words:my car is off road and i don't know where to go next.

Basically,i want to go to the motoring press, auto traders *****'n., and court but i need some evidence other than my string of recorded delivery letters confirming conversations and commenting on the supposed work carried out and the continuous faults with the same.

I would also like advise on safe rebore sizes, larger engines which are compatable with the engine bay, electics etc.,and performance enhancing work which can be carried out this engine.

If you can help please reply either on this forum or e-mail to danniarcher@hotmail.co.uk.

There is another story as to how the car came to be in the reconditioners which is equally sad,but not needed here.

Here's hoping

cheers

Dannie
