mate ive just had a problem with my car and i got a rev 3 engine from the breakers (even tho they told me they wer sending me an engine that was taken from a st205). rev 3 engine is an mr2 turbo engine. the block on both engines are the same but there is a load of difference. i knew straight away that they had sent me the wrong engine cause it said 16v twin cam on the top. the pump isnt in the same place the altanator is at the back of the engine if i remember correctly, the sump is different. too much work to change everything over so it is being sent back

It won't fit.

If their talking rev3 their on about MR2's.

The Rev3 MR2 turbo has the same engine as the ST205, rev 2 = ST185.

Each version of the engine has a different mainfold stud layout.

Fensport are now selling an Aussie exhaust manifold which fits the ST205. However even they says it's not needed until above 400BHP, Gernerally advise if you not going for big power is just get your existing stock mainfold ported abit to open it up.

That way you don't have to make a new manifold heat shield or have to deal with clearance to CC issues etc.

If that was a rev3 engine it wasn't a 3s-gte rev3...

Where's the oil filter on the one they gave you, if it's on the front of the block next to where the turbo would be then it's a Rev 1 or 2, if it's at the bottom on the sump then it's a rev3 and should be the same as the ST205 engine.

rev3 is a mr2 engine. u wont have a rev 3 engine in ur st205 unless the engine has been changed. both the st205 and the mr2 rev 3 engine use the same block. there isnt any power gain in the mr2 engine. its the same but in the mr2 the ecu was remapped different (less power) as the engine isnt getting the same amount of air that it wud in the front mounted st205

correct but dfont go rushing into changing the manifold, im running 470bhp on stock manifolds and cams, so there arnt really gains to be had

one of my friends got a set of stainless manifolds and they were actually of a smaller inner diameter than the standard ones

long bock incl manifolds are identical between the rev3 MR2 turbo and ST-205 GT4 only ancillary brackets are different, it WILL fit, you just need to put your water elbow on the head, alternator, power steering pump and engine mount brackets on
