hey all,

ive a serious problem to sort out, i got a lovely set of white multi spoke alloys for my corolla (99) hatchback, there 195/45/R16 and they rub in the back if anyone is in the car or on very bumpy roads. if they were 17's id say fair enough but i thought 16's would be fine!! can anyone help?? any suggestions welcome.

thanks very much, this site is brill for info.

You will probably just need to go and get your arches rolled, this should solve the main rubbing unless the wheels are going right up into your inner arches. You obviously got some really cheap shocks too, you need to spend a bit more on shocks if you want them to be sterdy or even buy coilovers (for future reference) how old are your shocks?? maybe they have leaked and lost pressure ???

all i can think of.

You haven't said what offset your alloys are. I had this problem with 16" alloys with a 38mm offset - as recommended by OZ but the correct offset is 42mm. I now a set of Rota Grids with 42mm offset and they are fine.
