Vanity Mirror Light

Vanity mirror light ok on passenger side, not working on driver side. Away from home at the moment, report from GF at HQ. Does this only work with the engine off etc or should it light up when you slide the jobby accross? How do I take it apart, replace the lamp. 4.2

Tell GF at HQ to lean across for now and in any case she is beautiful enough so no need to bother anyway. The light works only when you slide the jobby across and usually it has to be folded down fully to pick up the switch contact. According to the not very comprehensive manual you have to check the resistance of the switch or replace the bulb or the visor if it is not working. I think it is one of those jobs you will just have to have a fiddle with when you get home but it sounds like there is a replaceable bulb.
