Metallic Paint Charge

All Toyota dealers in the Republic of Ireland are charging between €500 and €600 for metallic paint as an extra on all new Toyota models. I remember seeing a Toyota advertisement on the television some time ago that stated 'metallic paint standard' can anyone tell me is there a charge for this paint or is this just a 'rip off'. Cost me extra on my T180. Toyota need the extra profit It is nicer though. And they know we'll pay for it.

Likewise. I ordered my Auris during the week and there was an extra £350 published in all the price lists for the metallic.

Hi. No you are not being ripped off more than anyone else who chooses metallic paint. It is a standard extra charge on all Toyotas. When the Auris first came out, just over a year ago, there was a special promotional offer that included free metallic paint on the TR model...but the offer didin't last long (I think 3 months).

As everyone esle has already said you have to pay extra for metallic paint, as far as i am aware this is the case with every manufacturer, im not aware of anyone giving metallic paint as standard.
