Well I spent about 4.5 hours on Friday fitting new springs. I got the Cobra ones for £100 delivered.

Rear was very easy:

jack up

Put on Stands

Take of Wheels

jack up suspension and fit spring compressors (this way you just hook them on no need to compress)

Lower suspension - springs fall out as can't expand.

Fit in reverse - 20 minutes total time.

Fronts:

Remove wiper

Remover wiper motor tray

Undo top nut on each damper (very very tight after 3 years) 17mm Off Set ring spanner and 6mm Allen Key required.

jack up front

Remove wheels

Undo clips that holds brake lines and sensor wires

Remove bolt that pinches bottom of damper

The clamp needed "tapping off" with a hammer

Pull out dampers

Replace springs

Fit in reverse.

Very simple, what took the time was removing corroded parts that were very very tight.

car now looks right, doesn't look too low or too high like standard. Feels nice, not too hard either.

30mm lower is just right I think. Will see if I can sort some comparison pics if anyone is interested?

It's not easy to show the gap on a dark car with black tyres and dark shadow. Hope this helps though.

thats thats very cool, does the springs change it to black too..lol.

Have you noticed much difference in terms of performance at all?

Yep, springs are red and as I fitted them the paint changed colour and the car grew an extra set of doors. :P

Normal ride does not feel a lot different, ie it's quite supple. However if you go over a bump it's a bit harder and there is A LOT LESS body roll. car seems a bit quieter........could be my imagination or it could be the better ride? Under braking there is less dive at the front too.

I like it, well worth the effort.
