Ipod Again!

Hi All,

First post so go easy on me! Sorry if this has been asked before but I have searched and can't find the awnser. I've just picked up a 2005 XT5 with a B9001 touchscreen sat nav. Does anyone know if I can plumb in my Ipod? I preffer to have it intergrated and use the stereo controls than use one of those FM adapters.

Also on another note I need to get the Toyota dog guard, what's my best option? (apart from new!)

Rgds,

Marcus

Hi mate, try doing a search for I Pod connectors or have a look at Anchormans tutorial above in the pinned

maintenance section. I'm sure the proper Toyota one is available for the 4.2 Rav like yours. Parts-King will

get you a 10 % discount as well.

Good luck. ;)

edit, heres the link to Anchormans thread -

Hi Marcus

Welcome to the club.

The tutorial does not specifically apply to your 4.2 although the fitting instructions are similar.

I do remember that a member fitted the system to his 4.2 and although he got the system to work he could not get the radio to display the track data.

Try searching "IPod".

Hi all.

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd piggyback on this one.

The wife-to-be has a 2002 Rav4 (4 door version). She is getting an i-Touch and wants to be able to use in the car. I have an FM transmitter and am not impressed with the performance, so have suggested that she try and get the i-Touch integrated with the OEM stereo.

I have a picture of the stereo saved below. A couple of things occur to me:

The iTouch can't be located in the glove compartment as there is no shelf, i.e. it is just a foldout drawer.

It might be an idea to remove the ashtray and cigarette lighter and have the iTouch located there?

All suggestions welcome. I won't be undertaking this project myself, I would just like to get some idea of what is possible and what it might cost. We live near Halfords, so they may be worth consulting?

Hi, just checking as I see that proxy lives in Ireland (as do I) - if we give you Irish registration number (which is YY-County code-sequential number starting at 1 each new year) can you work from that, or do you need VIN, please??

Thanks

Maybe you could consider one of these to help locate the itouch. You need to check compatibility;

Thanks-doesn't seem to be compatible with iPod Touch though. Indeed the only iPod Touch solutions that seem to be available are of he FM transmitter variety.

Hi proxy

Had the same problem with my 1996 T180 and after searching for a kit that showed the trach info decided the best solution was to burn my music to a hanffull of discs in mp3 format wich the touchscreen system plays and identifies the track details in file format.

Cheers
