Ice Warning

HI in all, I am new for as soon as I took RAV 4 I observed that the warning for the ice does not always work, Today the temperature is -1C while the street has enough ice the warning does not turn on other times where it has 3C it turns on. He is physiologic this, It knows no one if does exist separate sensor for the ice?

Hi there etzava. Welcome to TOC.

The ice warning only works if the temp is above 3°c, and then drops to 3°c or below.

I think the thery is that at 3°c and below, you already know it's cold.

BTW, in case you are not aware, when you do get the ice warning, it annoyingly stays on all the time. You can cancel it by pressing and holding the left hand button (the one that cycles thru the computer) until both the message and warning light go out.

EDIT: Just noticed your location. Does it get that cold in Greece?
