Rear Window , Again !

came to open the rear window on my k reg 2.4 surf this morning , !Removed! thing ent half way down and stopped working , could hear motor turning but no movement , left it for half an hour and tried it again, window went up ! ,now it wont move at all but i can hear motor turning , assume worm drive etc stripped , anyone got any ideas where i can get new motor or worm gear from ? . really like this car but this rear window businness is a nightmare ,looking for a pick up truck , no rear window , if any wants my surf any sensible offer considered, or swap for pick up , thanks

All you need to do is go to the scrap yard and get a motor from the nearside of a similar year toyota.

looks like i,ll have to do that , can these windows be modifield so you could open it manualy , it,s only a window after all , everyone seems to have trrouble with these wondow motors

my surf did the same but when i stripped it down all that had happened was the casing for the worm gear had fell apart i repacked it with grease an put it back togeter clamping it tite with pliers and it has been fine now

ive sorted it , went scrap yard in bolton this morning and got window motor off a supra , works a treat now , word of warning to anyone else doing the same , i tried a corolla and an mr2 before the supra but found they had different motors and would not have fitted .
