Avensis Srs Light On 1998

Hi guys,

1998 "r" avensis gs 1.8

srs light came on and stayed on for a couple of days. Then for about a week it behaved normal.

It came back on and wont go out. Got it tested by a mechanic and no dtcs showing. He suspected

spring clock. After reading the forum, this seemed to be the obvious conclusion. Priced 1 up at Toyota

and qouted £140 + vat (ouch). Went and obtained 1 from scrappies (£20) and fitted. To my dismay the light was still on I opened up the original and it appeared to be ok. (could it be I have picked a dud from scrappie?) I personally dont think so but you never know, and wouldnt like to take it back if it isnt faulty. BTW the horn works and indicators cancel. I had the cd player out the other week. just wondered if I could have snagged a wire if the loom ran behind the cd? he tells me there is no pretentioners on my car, is that right? Can anybody tell me where the srs module is on the avensis and how much are they?. any advice be much appreciated as there is no manual avail for the car
