I've driven a lot of MINI Cooper Ss (which have the same engine) and I reckon it would be quite close. Difficult to get the power down in the MINI though, torque steer is manic!

We're supposed to be getting a 207 GTI at work for testing too soon so I'll be able to tell you then!

I've never really got that when BMW and Merc keep churning out 5 and 6ltr M's and AMG's.

Are they trying to keep the cost down for the consumer?

There going to be doing it on average soon, think it going to be like 140co2 per km for new cars,EU law,but it will be over the whole range of the car you produce, amg an m5 would be relatively small volume in relation to car sales, engine are going to get smaller though, prob see alot of cars like that new vw engine, the 1.4 super and turbo charged 170bhp. Sure thats why you have all the sensors on your cars, we'd prob still have a carb if it wasnt for emission laws! When you think about all the investment that went into electronic fuel injection systems, would they really have bothered spending that money if they didnt have to.

Walking down the street I saw a VXR take off from about 30mph. I hate to say it, but it was canny impressive!

And yes the driver was wearing a cap! :D

I know this has gone slightly off topic... but I had a tussle with a Corsa VXR when I had my Focus ST 2.5 and the Corsa surprised me... I was only barely shaking him off!!! :( So I'd assume a similar capacity 1.6T in the 207 would be rapid too...

I have got this months evo magazine and there is an interesting topic comparing the latest hot hatches, corsa vxr fiesta st 185 and clio 197 cup against a lancia iontegrale.

The corsa vxr they used was a special edition 888 one which has been upgraded to 225 BHP. Basically it has been remapped and full exhaust by vauxhall and the write up on it is it goes like hell.

They rolling roaded the ST 185 and that produced 176 bhp and the clio 185 bhp. so slightly less than quoted.

i remember when i was on the celica forum and people had their celica 190's and t- sports rolling roaded and alot were only produceing 160-170 bhp standard.

Has anyone on here had their cts rolling roaded in standard form.

Not yet, but there are a few of us "up north" that are having a rolling road day in June so it will be interesting to find out what they are producing!

haha, save up cant take too long. doesnt look too hard to fit , mate of mine fit a turbo kit to his civic by himself so couldnt be too difficult, surely lift would have to be disabled ?

Why disable lift??

The Compressor still has lift despite a Supercharger.

Hmm, i wonder, what about having a Supercharger for the power from zero, followed by a Turbo kicking in and then Lift joining in? :D

lmao take it to the red line through the gears and you will be in trouble me thinks. i was just thinking with turbo boost then lift too surely the piston wouldnt be able to cope ? maybe if the lift was the same as on compresor and starts earlier so it is smooth instead of a kick and then the turbo kicks in at about 5000 rpm, sounds nice :)
