hiya all!!! I work at the Toyota engine plant in deeside, just bout to give up my corolla T3 D4D on the scheme there, as i have just put deposit on a corolla t sport compressor, can't wait, had a test drive in a type R an compressor an that put a bigger smile on my face lol!!!! I've read on here some people have upgraded the exhaust on these but i've heard rumors that there's something in the standard exhaust that helps with the control of the VVTL-i or is this just in the manifold, anyone know anything?

Welcome mate. I've heard of people upgrading the exhaust on a t-sport but not a compressor. Not sure where you heard those rumours, think that might be tripe as the cams are controlled by the ecu. Only things i heard of that can control these are an ApexiFC and Hydra EMS

Got it from exhaust uk based in sheffield, cost £550 inc. full lifetime guarantee. (they do some of the stuff for pimp my ride on mtv)

You get a choice of end pipes, theres about 50 to choose from. And they ask you how loud you want it. I went for medium, not to loud i thought.....

Wrong, it roars like a beast. It takes about 1000 miles before the noise settles down and though its still loud, i think it sounds ace (can do your head in on the motorway a bit) and a real head turner.

cheers for the info mate, heard good stuff bout exhaust uk, mate got one from there for his scooby. gonna have to get an induction kit asap cos heard that they let the supercharger whine out better, have you got one on yours? seen a lot of people reccommend the typhoon kit.

First off all I bought a blitz panel filter, I wouldn't bother with them tbh.

Then I fitted a powertec (really good for only £100). But I would get a k&n typhoon if I were u.

There is a thread on here a couple of pages back. :D :D

hi mate,

got my custom exhuast for my compressor a while back from the cat (stainless steal) as i couldnt stand the 2lob sided look" from extreme performance in basildon. sound awesome very deep with alot more torque through each gear.

not sure about the standard exhaust helping the vvtl-i tho.. as the new exhuast is meant to unrestrict the power output.

funny thing was when i got my exhaust done without the the tyhpoon kit when i hit lift you could really feel the force of the lift. but after fitting the typhoon its doesnt seem to kick in any more! not to sure if that just me or cos i was expecting to much.

hi, well i know you can't feel lift as much in the compressor as in normal t sport due to the supercharger giving better pull below lift, so i'm just guessing that with the better air flow from the typhoon kit supercharger could be workin better hence not feelin lift as much. Did you have the problem with VSC, traction control an engine management lights after fittin the typhoon kit like i've heard some people have?

nope not if you disconnect the Battery and reset the ecu before you start.
