Rear Wipers Not Working After Frost

Anyone experienced rear wiper failure after a frosty cold night? This morning I got in the car and switched the rear wipers on but they didn't move. It wasn't until around 30 mins later that suddenly they were ok again. It only ever seems to happen in cold weather or after a frosty night. Any tips or reasons for this???

SWMBO's 1998 Corolla suffers similar in the cold weather, though it's jerky rather than completely not working.

If its the hatch back avensis..

nothing major..

2 causes..

1 - motor is on its last legs.. so doesnt have enough jucie to turn the wiper..

2 - water has gotten into the seal of the windscreen wiper.

Cheers, Yes the wiper does seem quite lazy anyway in normal conditions so cold weather and water frozen inside would explain it. Perhaps I'll buy it some gloves.
