hey guys,im new here...im getting a new car soon..a corolla.. but im confused whether to buy an automatic or manual.. imade my mind on an automatic one..but i read somewhere that the automatic transmission can fail.. im not sure i understand that part..if it failed..and im on road..wont it be able to shift down ... will the brake pedal work..will i be able to stop the car by the brake pedal even if the automatic transmission failed...i already have a manual kia...thanks..i appreciate your help..

The gearbox is nothing to fo with the brake system. They rarely fail but if they do the most likely scenario is just loss of drive.

From my experiance autos are stronger then manuals..

autos are for lazy people, get yourself a stick shift
