Facia For Head Unit On 52 Plate

HELP!! :o

I went to Road Radio yesterday to try and get a new head unit installed in my Toyota Avensis, 52 plate, 1.8VVTI.

They sent me here.....

They said they cant install anything and the gap is too big once everything that is existing is taken out. I don't use the cars Sat Nav, I have a separate system...and I realise I will lose the on board computer, but I am not fussed about that...

What they have said is that they cant install the stereo without a replacement section, a facia, that would hold a new head unit, and leave a gap underneath. They are saying they could mould me one, but with labour etc it would be about £120!

Can anyone help me please? Where can I get a facia? A replacement section?

And why for a relatively new car.......is the sound system so crap? :(

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sam ;)

Hi,

I´m from Spain and i came here to look for exactly the same thing : Facia Adaptor. i´ve been wanting to change my avensis radio

since a year but no luck. but i found some one who sells it yesterday.

The guy doesn´t have it in stock right now but says it´ll be in 10days.

i can tell you how it looks and how much it costs only after the get the piece.

BUT IT CERTAINLY IS LESS THAN 60 Euros (roughly 45GBP)

I have one of the above adapters here and had it fitted earlier this week with a double din stereo.

It is very sturdy in the space, unlike some of the Autoleads facias I've used with other cars, and thankfully the existing cage to hold the stereo is very easy to use and secure.

The fit from top to bottom with the new stereo was very good, but I couldn't live with the gaps to the side (as shown in the post below):

I've removed it now and gone back to the original stereo.

If anyone would like my facia (in as new condition), please drop me a line. £30 inc delivery (within the UK).

Luke
