Hope someone can help with this one, fed up with all the phone calls I have made.

I have a MkIV '93 TT jap import.

I need to get all four discs and pads replaced.

I'm not rich enough to go for a complete updgrade, but am looking for better performance than the standard Toyota Brakes.

The few specialists I have call all recommend slightly different options, but the most common seems to be:

Standard Toyota Discs all round

EBC Greenstuff pads on the front

EBC Redstuff pads on the rear

Does this sound like a good way forward.

My second problem is the 3 Toyota dealerships I have called don't seem to know what discs to order for the rear. Two different discs are listed when they enter my vehicle details. Neither have sufficient description to determine there size etc..

Grateful if anyone could give advice on the brake setup above (or any better options). And has anyone had that problem when ordering brakes from Toyota, and know which discs to order from them.

Sorry it was a bit long!

I'm assuming its the same as mk3s..

I know for a fact that the mKIV imports have rubbisy diddly lil breaks as well... What I did was got second have parts of a uk spec car I was scrapping, try a scrap yard and see iff you can get a set of UK front and rear calipers, and front and rear disk cover sheild thingies (what are they called? anyone? its exceped me), then standard uk sized disks and pads will fit :) I used the Fensport pads, pagid fron kelvar rear.

the Green stuff (and defo the red stuff!) pads are more for fast road use, they are not to great when totally cold -something to bear in mind if the car is your every day driver!!! I used kevlar pads at the rear as they rear temperatures seem to get pretty high (probably why they say red stuff rear) -again have a look at fensport if you have not done so already :)
