Hi All,

New to the world of toyota as ive just got an Auris T3 2.0 D4D in Decuma Grey as a company car and have a few questions.

the overhead sunglasses storage: how does this thing work, ive read its standard on all models but i just seem to have a bit of plastic with a buttion on it that i cant get to open.

the button mentioned above: what is it??? its got a picture of a car with some sort of beam coming from the roof. i cant find anything about it in the manual

and anything worth looking into, problems to look out for etc... i know its not a major things to expect?

cheers

Hello Gary

I got my new auris tr last week.

The glasses storage, you just push the end closest to you and it will click open and drop down. dont get too excited tho, i did and was dissapointed when i could'nt even fit my nike shades in there.. :( B) on either side of that should be the buttons for the 2 map reading lights.

i have had to take my car in to toyota already as the brakes started squeaking like mad (embarrasing as hell when your car is brand new and u wanna show it off!) if that happens, get it in. the service dude said it was dust in the brakes!! and they had to be stripped and cleaned. the noise has gone now.

apart from that i have had no probs so far, and love it.

hope u figure out the glasses store :help:

Hithe overhead sunglasses storage: how does this thing work, ive read its standard on all models but i just seem to have a bit of plastic with a buttion on it that i cant get to open. Not fitted on Diesel model, its were they fit the alarm unit

the button mentioned above: what is it??? its got a picture of a car with some sort of beam coming from the roof. i cant find anything about it in the manual. It turns the interior alarm sensors off

The sunglasses holder is only on petrol models, Diesel models have an alarm sensor where the box would normally fit

Kingo

cheers for the advice ill stop trying to prise it open then and ill just use the side compartment for my glasses.

i work on a dock with 2 coal yards so dust is a major problem, ill listen for the brakes and get them sorted should they start squeeling at me (although every car ive had has had noisey brakes within 6 months or purchase which is why a company car was so inviting)

Maybe this is only replaced with an alarm sensor on the UK models? I only have alarm sensor on mine!
