Picking My Yaris Up On March 3rd - Couple Of Questions...

Hi peeps,

After a 4 month wait, I'm picking up my Yaris on monday 3rd March, its a 3 door TR 1.4D4D witm MMT, in Decuma grey.

Though I'm a little annoyed that as Toyota have changed the spec now, getting rid of the front fog lights and replacing them with a chrome boot trim. I asked the dealer about this, and even though I ordered in October last year, I get the spec which is produced at the collection date - so no front fogs for me

Grrr!! Anyway, are they easy to fit (and how much they cost?), as I will probably end up buying them afterwards, as I think the front end looks better with lights in the slots, rather than a blank plate.

Also, I added VSC (vehicle stability control) as a factory option - is there actually a way to check and confirm by looking at the car that VSC is definately fitted, or is it coded into the vin number or anything like that??

Cheers

Fogs are pretty easy to fit on the Yaris. Just take front bumper off,fit the fogs and surrounds, feed wires around the engine bay from foglamps to battery/fusebox and refit bumper.

Inside the car you remove the centre console and steering colunm cowling. Feed/solder/connect a few more wires around (headlamp level switch, connector under column & down by the handbrake for the switch position)

Fit a relay and fuse into internal fusebox and HAY PRESTO there will be light.

When you buy the kit from Toyota get the parts guy to print you the fitting instructions off too. Unless he is a grumpy bugger they shouldnt mind doing it for you.

Not sure on price thought sorry.

If the car is fitted with VSC there should be a light that comes on with ignition.

Cheers Mart, is it a light that says "VSC" which lights up then?

Is it just one that lights up (along with all other dash lights) on starting and then goes out - like a system test as most engine and Battery lights normally do an all cars.....if that makes sense :P

Yes the 'VSC' should light up and as you say like a system test then go out when engine running.
