Questions On T3 Spec

Hi all!

I have loved the Yaris since its launch. l'll be learning for a good few months yet, but I am focusing in on a (used) T3, 1.3 as my first car. I like the spec on this model, what with air con and the CD player, along with the additional air bags. I do see a potential issue though; I'm veggie and I wouldn't want any leather in my car.

So my question is, do all T3s have leather steering wheels and gear sticks? If they do *sob* and what are my chances of finding a T2 with air con and lots of added extras?

Thanks!

Hi Ali, welcome to TOC

T3 doesnt come with air con & leather steering wheel & gear stick... that's T-Spirit spec.

You might find a T3 with air con which doesnt have the leather... it'll be a long shot but keep a look out!

It's against TOC T&C's to sell through the forums without being a paid member.

Whoops! Thanks for that. So air con as standard means leather as standard. Hmmmm

How easy would it be to change the steering wheel and gear stick in a Spirit? Expensive, nightmare or really easy? Would I be best to stick a furry cover over them? Leopard print for the irony?

If you don't buy the car with leather in it, someone else will, it's already been made, can't you not worry about it? (leather steering wheels do feel really nice!!!)

If you're not bothered buying one with leather then you could just stick a cover over the steering wheel and the gear knob is really easy to change - just screws off! Steering wheels are slightly harder to change over....

You could also consider an Aygo - my Aygo Blue does have the leather gear knob, but again easy to change over - similar size to the Yaris (I've had two 1.3 T-Spirits myself in the past) and a really cool little car - the steering wheel isnt leather either so you don't have to worry about that plus the Aygo Blue has air con as standard - the 1.0 engine is fairly peppy too and the car is much lighter than the Yaris, meaning a much better power to weight ratio ;)

Plus its £35 a year road tax, Group 1 insurance and you can get 61mpg..... :D

Can't can't not! (Triple negative - is that right??) It's fine for someone else to have the nice feeling, but for myself, I dunno; don't eat 'em, don't wear 'em, but I'll have 'em on me car... Don't think I could!

That's an interesting idea. The cheapness of tax, insurance and 61mpg (!) do appeal to my stingey nature. Thanks for the info!
