Just for a bit of fun... There is a current F1 driver who has been the Stig!

Any guesses?

The Sun isnt exactly the best place for accuracy or decent journalism.

And for those of you that dont know the webs worst kept secret.

The Stig originally was Perry Mcarthy (ex F1 driver) = he wore the black outfit but was fired after bragging about being the stig.

The idea is, professional racing drivers tend to have, well, races - so the idea behind the stig is that they can change the driver as and when required - either by the feature, or by commitments.

Such as the Renault F1 in the NEC - that was a Renault test driver.

The 'regular' stig is Ben Collins - a racing driver from Bristol - he tends to do most of the 'hot laps' and challenge features.

It is rumoured that Damon Hill has also donned the white helmet once or twice for a couple of features also.

Hope that helps.
