Radio Problems...

I own a 2002 toyota avensis, and it's radio isn't working!

Recently my son has fiddled with our radio, the standard CD one. And seems to have locked it

I can eject and put in a CD fine, it will play it, but i cannot control the tracks, or volume.... You cannot get to the radio :( Made me miss the rugby

And i can only look and control the MPG and average MPH etc etc.. This is very annoying! And im sure there is a very easy fix

I have noticed if i double click the volume knob, i can make a message come up, "AUDIO OFF", i have no clue is this has any relevance...
