Are the t180 brakes, pads / discs different from the standard Auris models?

I do have a b it of squeal but someone told me the part metal brakes do give squealing but they perform better and last longer.

I'm prepared to keep the squeal if the metal type brakes perform better, does anyone know if this is true?

Also does the T180 get different brakes from the rest? In which case i wont have them changed.

thanks

I can't find any information on the internet about it. It seems like every Auris has the same brake system. Also what is metal type brakes? I thought every brake system is metal.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think it is metal filings in the brake pads. Sure I had some in my old Tipo 16v - copper I think.

I found an article on the web which lists the specifications of the Auris range.

It details engines, suspension, tyres etc and brakes. The Auris range, apart from the T180/SR180, have 273mm diameter vented front discs the T/SR180 has 295mm diameter vented discs. The increase in size would require a larger calliper and different pads. I have no information, though, on the actual composition of the pads themselves.

Rear discs are the same size accross the entire range.

Hope this helps.
