Gear Clunk - T180

I'm getting a clunk noise coming from the actual box area when changing from 1st to 2nd only.

Happens more when its from cold and seems more noticeable on v.cold days. Also some resistance when it happens and sometimes difficulty in engaging 2nd gear. Happened from new but never remember this problem being noticeable in the warmer summer months. Problem seems to go away when car is fully warm.

Garage says hard to detect a problem and the noise is normal - gears engaging. Issue is, i only get the clunk / resistance on gear 2. All other gears perfect.

Anyone else getting this?

Had a few 6 speed Avensis in for difficult gear engagement (when cold). I remember reading a bulletin at work about draining the 75w/90 gear oil and refilling with ATF.

All been away happy since the oil change.
