Veg Oil

stick to any veg oil mate , soya oil is slightly better due it being a bit thinner , but any veg oil will do , i ran 60/40 derv/veg oil without any problems , in the summer once its running and hot go 50/50 or even higher , i quit using it cos its no cheaper than derv really nowadays.

a litre of unleaded or whitespirit also aids in the combustion process ,specially during really cold weather , oh and carry a spare fuel filer with you and tools to remove the old one in the event the filter gets blocked with crap out of the fuel tank .

It makes me wonder if the veg oil companies have wised up and started index linking the price of their product to derv.Have you noticed recently whenever derv goes up it seems veg oil does too.

oil used to cook chips etc is fine to use , if its used to cook meats , like chicken or fish , it will contain fats , it can be filtered out with a bed sheet . fats will eventually build up in the fuel tank and clog the fuel intake pipe .

I,ve put the odd litre or 2 of veg oil in, and last week put in 3 litres of corn oil and the car seems fine (smells a bit different) but sounds and runs fine . If i was to put 50/50 in would i need to change anything or add anything else. I saw petrol/whitespirit mentioned but in what ratio.I like the idea of cheaper fuel but not at the expence of engine damage. I'd like a more difinitive answer before i go putting 40 +% svo to diesel.
