Seatbelt Warning Sound

Well from my side I think I never forgot to put a seat belt but I do have the addiction of putting it in motion with this sound I don't do this much only when I'm in a hurry. But for example my grandmom in my previous car several times she used to forget to buckle up because of the age (she forgets things) and probably because in her times seat belt was not mandatory. With this sound she can't forget or neither can I so I think its a good feature as annoying as it may sound. But I can understand why some people might want it OFF but I wouldn't keep it OFF all the time.

There must be a way to do it as ours doesn't have an audible alert. This may have been disabled by the dealer as it was a few months old and a pre reg, just the flashing light on the dash. I have always worn a seat belt anyway so don't need a reminder.

Dealers can disable the audible seat belt reminder where a person has a disability that prohibits the wearing of a seat belt.

However the legal requirement for both optical and audible seat belt reminders is mandatory for all cars undergoing new type approval in the EU between November 2012 and 2014, and for all new cars sold in the EU from 2014.

The 2013 Auris retains the type approval of the 2007 Auris - which already had both reminders.

There are three old topics (dating back to 2008 and 2010) which have been resurrected on this subject, where one would have sufficed.

Тhere are two quick options for disabling seat belt sound alarm; one of them is well known seat belt buckle extender q390.jpg
another one is disconnecting seat belt buckle switch that is wired to a two pins connector (it has grey and white/black wires); this connector (grey colour) is situated under the driver's seat.
