Don't you have a spare fob key? If so a key cutters might be some help, as they can get the code off the second key.

I got 2 fob keys and a 1 normal key for mine.

You might have to go directly to Mr.T for this with all the cars details. Though I think someone said on here, that a new key is about £50. I might be wrong on that.

I think you are wrong on that, Mr T is going to want £150 to £200 to supply and code a new remote Key!

This subject has been covered many times on celica-club, if you're prepared to buy the bits of the Key separately, you can save over £100.

Yeah I'd say £150 would be more like it! I knew I wasn't fully sure, but 50 was coming in my mind. It must've just been avoiding the '1' at the front!!

I'm in a similar boat, only ever had one remote key... which Mr T say isn't a master so they can't use it to programme a new spare and the only way around it is by replacing the ECU! Posted up on TOC! and got some advice.

I've just ordered a blank (i.e. uncut) key blade and empty plastic Shell bit from eBay for £5 and a used key (i.e. already cut) with a working remote part for £20, also from eBay. When they arrive, I'll get the blank blade cut as a copy of the one I already have, and swap the remote bit into it then use the reprogramming procedure to overwrite the code that already on the £20 key.

If it works, I'll have saved myself about £1975, which ain't bad :D

Did it work.. i'm in the same boat . no master keys just the valet key.. i think you need the emc reflashed for it to work.

I managed to get the new key to work with the remote central locking, but not the immobiliser. I'm still waiting to hear from anyone who has managed to get the immobiliser encoding technique to work.... anyone??!?!?

The most knowledgeable person I know on this subject is Paul (Hawker) on TOC!. My gut feeling is that either the electronics in the Key you are trying to code are the wrong type in that it is not compatible with a Gen 7, or you are doing something wrong when attempting to code it in (I know you've spent some time trying).

Have you tried sending Paul a PM?, he's very helpful.
