Shows you what they know about a cars worth.....nowt!

If you were buying a new Avensis you might get £5K for it, but the price you have been offered is very fair. By all means stretch them out for a bit more, but I think you are at the limit

What car and Parkers guides are always overpriced, they just make you feel better when you see your little gem listed £500 overbook. if they were the guides to have, glasses and CAP would be out of business and the dealers would be rushing to W H Smith to buy their next copy. Sorry to disappoint but CAP and Glasses are the only true, "Guide" I highlight "Guide" because that is what they are, a mint condition car might have a guide price of say £5K but the dealer pays £5.2 because of the condition, your average Ford that might be harder to sell might "Guide" at £5K but the dealer only pays £4.75, market forces at work again!

I'd go for the dark grey, but then i am a bit biased as it's the same colour as my CTS!!

So how'd the visit go last night?

So how'd the visit go last night?

paid a deposit yesterday and got 3700 for the car after they first offered 3K.wanted some different alloyes and were willing to do that even though they said it would cost them £100 to fit and they only had some second hand ones available.so i got them to take another £100 off the price instead and kept the originals. can anyone tell me the difference between the venitian (sp) sliver and the normal silver. have to decide on the colour this morning as i said they have a grey one on the show room but i havnt seen a silver one. hoping the might have one down there

firstly thanks 2 everyone for all the quick replies and help

well the deed has been done lol all the paper work etc. they had a venetian silver in the show room. i didnt realise at first as i thought it was the exclusive grey for the SR.id pretty much decided on the dacuma because i saw another car that i thought was venetian and i didnt like it. (that turned out to be another colour aswell lol) so when the guy pointed out that the car in the showroom was venetian it knocked me off my stride. so i still decided on the dacuma but after a few mins pondering back and forth and changing the order form! i eventually went for the venetian! i prefer lighter colours,my old yaris is carribean blue but that wasnt available in the TR. the dacuma does look nice and smart in the show room with all the lights on it but i worried about it being a bit dark and dull outside in the normal light and ive seen a few of them out and about. and when i left the showroom there was a dacuma parked up and it did look abit dark and dull in natural light with out all the lights making it sparkle like you get in the show room. and silver was my second choice after blue.so i finally made a choice for the silver.

so there u have it a yaris TR 5 door 1.3 in venetian is set for collection in a few weeks. I only went in a couple of days ago to try and get the rust sorted on my door and i came out with a new car instead  although i was planning on changing it sooner or later and the deal they offered me was pretty good especially with the 0% finance.so i couldnt really turn it down as if i left it another year obviously my old car would be worth less and less

.not bad considering i didnt even like the new style when it first came out but it has grown on me. although im not a great fan of the plastic interior.quick question re that.can anyone offer advice oon what to clean the dash/white bits with. i use a Halfords spray on my old yaris which gives it a lovely shine like new feel on the dash. but in the new yaris its a dull finish is there anything i can use on it or would it just be a case of using a damp cloth on finger marks etc on the white bits and the dash?

had a phone call last night the car is ready to pick up tomorrow (friday) to say i was surprised is abit of an understatement!! wasnt expecting it for a couple of weeks at least. anyway im gonna collect it monday morning as ive got alot of work on and need to clear out the garage! had to sort out the insurance aswell.i had to go with the 7 day free insurance that they offer you because of the short notice. dont really like the idea of it with the extra excess but because of the notice, my regular company doesnt hasve enough time to send toytota a cover note nothings ever simple.

i was sat begind a TR in V silver last night in Leeds. it turned off before i could get a good look though.kinda nervous and excited at the same time. been looking on every site to see the V silver colour.it looks different in every other pic. but i went with that cause even though decuma looked nice in the showroom it looked abit dark when ive seen cars out and about. i guess i jsut wish i could have had it in vivd blue love my carribean blue that i have now but giess itsn ot worth another 900 quid. cant quite see them giving me a T3 for the same price as a TR just so i can have it in blue lol
