The only fly in the ointment with the Aygo, for me anyway, is those hideous, cheap looking, cheap feeling heater controls. They look like they've been borrowed from Rover's parts bin!

Are there any nice alternatives that can be fitted?

I think they look quite good. Like a speed boat throttle controls.

Some people have painted them or there is some self-adhesive chrome kits on eBay

or i think they still sell wood-effect sticky back plastic in woolies

A ROVER!!!

Damn it i didn't spend a shed load of cash for people to think that! take it back take it back now

or ill cry

Seriously though, the 4 speed fan switch looks like it's been lifted straight out of an MG Roadster! :o

Am I the only person that thinks the switches look like they've come out of a Chinese christmas cracker? There must be some quality replacements somewhere surely! :help:

haha no youre not, i like the design, but the tacky *click click* when u move them is shocking!

and i dont like the heater vents... in my ka they moved up and down aswell as left n right... in the aygo they dont :( so i cant have em facing towards me without my hair flying everywhere :( boooo

Get a hair cut then. I thought the vents were good being able to place them in any position you want ....... even closed they look cool.

I am a bit disappointed that you can't see what position the fan switch is in when it is dark though. Anyone managed to sort that one out??

lol, i was just saying, the ka was designed originally about 13 years ago now, and the vents in that moved up and down... the aygo has similar vents without as much movement unfortunatly!

Id also like to know if anyone had tried to change the colour behind the switches?? as i dont like the standard orange :(

The air vents to the sides swivel 360° in any direction, so can't see how they are worse than the KA??

sidey sidey, uppy downy, roundy roundy?? Like an old mouse ball.

Lots of posts elsewhere about changing the colour behind the light panel, have a good look round the site.

I can twist my controls to any direction I want?

Open them as normal, then twist them clockwise or anti-clockwise and then move them to the angle you like?

Was gonna say the vents move 360 like u say cokeman + left and right, making them able to face any way

someone on the 107club drilled a small hole in the dimple bit so the light behind it would shine through at night, was quite effective, of you are like me and wouldnt take a drill in a mile near my car how about a glow in the dark circle sticker?

guide to changing the lights, (to blue which is the colour I would go with)

i thonk drillin a small hole is a good idea - how do you take it off?

some potentially bad jokes could come from this, but apparently you just pull the knob

The fresh air vents are lifted straight out of the Citroen C2 parts bin! ;)

It helps if you wiggle it as you pull

hmm.. mine dont appear to move... ill go n have another go at it later...

thanks about the light change *thumbsup*

im changing them all blue to match my Pioneer headunit :D

Helps if you put a screwdriver or a sharp thing in the egde as y9ou pull alot easier than having to hurt your nails. I'm currently trying to replace the lights so that they are blue rather than orange but I cant get the big white connector thing to come out without damaging it lol.

I actually drilled a hole in the dimple since there's a bit of translucent plastic behind the knob.

Unfortunately the illumination was WAY too weak for my liking and the hole looked stupid too.

Since then I've filled the hole with transparent hotmelt glue so the bulge is back

where it should be and I'm now looking into fitting a small LED into the knob.

Only I'm having a hard time figuring out something to get power to the LED...

Here's some pic of the knob being worked on.

Haven't got any more pics ATM, due to lack of inspiration and time...
