Picked It Up Today - First Problem!

Became the very proud owner of a gorgeous black 54 plate CTS today and so amazingly pleased with it.

Read the forum over and over and so I'm not suprised by some little noises that appear here and there and no squeaky clutch issues as yet! ;)

But lo and behold - I've double locked it tonight and the alarm started having issues. The car had been locked for about 3 hours and just as I'm about to go to sleep the alarm goes off! Went out and checked that someone wasn't trying to nick it and when happy there was no-one lurking around I unlocked the car and re-locked it. Instantly the alarm started going off straight away. Tried a few times and it just wouldn't behave!

I've now just single locked it and there doesn't seem to be an alarm issue anymore but I'm not sure whether this means that the alarm now isn't actually set?

I really need a good nights sleep and I don't wanna have to keep getting up at all hours to check on the car.

Any suggestions? Or is it just the good old bonnet sensor issue that keeps being mentioned. If so, how have people fixed it? I've got warranty cover so I'll make a nuisance of myself with Toyota if necessary.

Hx

ye get it checked it checked out by your dealer at the end of the day it will cost you nothing , but consider this , my alarm has went off with the force of the wind so check that out. y do u double lock it ? is it 5 door?

Could be a Microwave...If I park mine outside the kitchen window and then get the Micro going, it seems to set it off.

Another strange one I've encountered is....Wireless Doorbells. Neighbous button was constantly pressed and knocked out my alarm totally!

Nope mine's not a 5 door - the guy in the dealership told me to press the lock button on my key twice cos first press just locks it and second press immobilises it. Is that incorrect then?

Anyway - my car appears to be self healing!! The alarm has not gone off again since so it was probably to do with where the car was parked that night - I'm moving house today anyway so I shouldn't have the problem when the car is parked in the garage.

Thanks for the advice though.

I understood it as the first press locked and immobilised, second press dead locked and alarmed

Also if the Battery on your key fob dies you cannot turn off the alarm with the key :!Removed!:
