I was getting about 60 miles less per tank for no apparent reason. Checked the tyre pressures etc, drove econimically, but still missing the 50 miles per tank. Then when looking at the service intervals, (9k instead of the official 10k) the air filter is supposed to be changed at 36,000 miles, but the next official service is at 40,000 miles. I had a peak at the air filter and it looked like a smoker’s lung

Asked Mr T for a Aygo D4D air filter, but they had to order it in. Decided I couldn’t be bothered to wait, so I went to the local citroen garage to buy the one used in a C1 HDi, but they were closed. So another short drive later, I brought a PMA air filter for a 206 1.4 HDi. It fits perfectly and according to the PMA manufacturer MAHLE

“A very special air filter is used in the Citroën C1, C2 and C3, the Ford Fiesta and Fusion

as well as in the Peugeot 107, 206 and 307: a special version of the LX 1569 with sealing loop as well as foam layer for pre-cleaning and noise insulation”

It is a little quieter. The high frequency noise from the injectors can’t be heard in the cabin anymore, so I’m very pleased :D
