Fuel Guage Fault

Anyone else had a problem with their fuel gauge (4.3 D4d) . On the odd occasion i have put diesel in and it doesn't register the new reading it should.

Not had that problem but just in case!.......on some vehicles it won't register you filling up unless you turn the key right to the off position and then back on. This is a kind of surpressor to stop it showing fuel surging. Just a thought in case you leave the key in while somebody is staying with the car.

Unfortunately this has happened when the vehicle has been off completely. The last time (a few months ago) it cleared with a re start but this time it wont. It may be a sticking float if they still have these nowadays, i'll get it checked out as the second service is coming due soon.

The RAV 4.1 takes a wee while to register a full tank - I don't bother too much about the guage as has been said in posts before, they are far from accurate.

You should watch the gauge on my 1963 landrover :lol: I know when its running low on diesel when the smoke subsides!!
