Got a 2001 1.3 GLS [AC]

Anyone know what stock alternator's in it / what's the loudest amp you can power off the stock alternator?

And also what can you upgrade it to? And how much they cost?

You can power any amp off it unless your going to build a 50,000 watt sound off car.

If your worried about not having enough power for a big amp get an optima deep cycle Battery and maybe a power cap.

Basically what forde said, if you were trying to build something mental; the alternator wouldnt be the first thing on ur list to upgrade (more to the point it'll be one of the last things).. If your worried about car not starting try a optima batt (as said above)..

Or an extra batt to run on amps purely with a split charger. But we're talking BIG power output.

Caps are for sound quality more than anything else really. Rough rule of thumb is 1 Farad per 1000W (RMS) power.

As for the original question.. alternators are for charging the batt again.. your amps dont work constantly at full power but your alternator is, so basically it will always charge your batts. HTH
