Engine Cutting Out

Every now and again when I start the engine it will just cut out unless I keep revving the engine. Its only intermittent and lasts for a few minutes at a time. Not ideal when im trying to teach someone to drive. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had this happen to me, sort of, in two different scenarios.

One was when I stalled reversing uphill into a parking space and didn't completely turn the ignition off and put it in neutral. Had to rev like a nutter to keep the engine going- worked perfectly well after I'd stopped and restarted the engine correctly- maybe the ECU needs to reset or something?

Also, I've found occasionally that after a short journey from cold- say nipping to the shops- on restart the engine seems reluctant to turn over. Hugo's never actually NOT started, but he came close the other night. Maybe it's something to do with having a small Battery or something? I know the battery's fine- I check it regularly. Maybe, being an instructor and stop-starting all day it's a similar scenario? :)

See also above topic. Dealer changed ignition switch to resolve - talked about an unwanted power signal getting to the ecu. So far so good ...

I had the same problem two weeks ago and the week before that. It was a really cold on both days and I was just manoeuvring it round to drive off. It hasn't happened since so I haven't got it checked out.... My aygo is only 2months old.
