Run Flat Repairs

Hi there,

Does anyone know of a way to find out which Toyota dealers, or even non Toyota garages for that matter, are equipped to repair and/or replace those pesky run flats on T180's ? A list of some description would be very handy then you would know where to head if you were out and about.

Anyone know how much they are to replace out of interest?

I'm not sure there is a definitive list, will look out for one and see if it is available

For those living in the Hampshire/Berkshire/Oxfordshire area, the following dealers will handle T180 run flats:

Inchcape Oxford

Inchcape Basingstoke

Kings Toyota Southampton

I think that's about it!!

If anyone tells you to go to Slough, don't!! RCS no longer deal with run flats as their machine is broken...

As for the price, make sure you get a quote without the support ring. Some dealers are charging for the support ring when it is not required, if you think you've been over-charged then contact Toyota GB.

Toyota will look at each case, but I've been unable to get them to commit to pay for the support ring in all cases (for those with a longer memory, I have been trying for about a month!)

I live in Cumbria and am told the nearest garage's are Preston or Carlisle. As I understand it, you can only drive 50 miles on a punctured run flat, so as these are 70 and 90 miles from me, that rules out the possibility of me actually buying a T180 on that fact alone. What I find totally astounding is the fact that you cannot go to ANY Toyota garage to get the problem sorted. If the manufacturer of a product can't help you out in the case of something as simple as a puncture, then there it's a bit of a "poor do" to say the least ! That's before you get into the can of worms issue of prices !

Hi paulemel, I was lead to believe that all Toyota garages that can't repair, should have a complete replacement wheel, which they can swap with your complete wheel (punctured tyre plus alloy). This was certainly what was told to me when I bought around 18 months ago. Maybe Kingo can confirm that this is still the case?

That was the case until about Christmas, the exchange programme was in place until sufficient dealers had the equipment. The exchange programme is now over, the tyres are available to buy through normal means, it's the equipment that is still not in all dealers, but new dealers are getting the equipment all the time
