Hi, I picked up my new Aygo Platinum just over an hour ago, so excited, all a bit of a rush with handover as it was so late and i've only really seen it in the dark, but so far so good, it seems a lovely little car. Has anyone taken up the service package? I'm sure I was quoted around £290 when I ordered the car but they said it's nearly £200 more than that tonight, they are going to check and get back to me but I could do with some advice, thanks xxx :)

Hello,

I was offered the service package too - think they said about £300. In the end I decided not to bother as I want to be able to make my own choice of dealer and the savings weren't sufficient, I didn't think.

I've since discovered, via the friendly folk on this forum, that despite most dealers selling their own service package you can buy one from Toyota themselves which is redeemable at any dealer.

This is 3 years/30,000 miles for £279 or 5 years/50,000 miles for £529 (both inc VAT) - so if the price ends up being more than that they are probably trying to overcharge.....

You can download a brochure for the toyota package via www.toyota.co.uk - click After Sales on the Left hand side, then Service Packages and select the Aygo.

Last of all - enjoy your platinum - I am so very pleased with mine, its a lovely little car!

Thank you, that's really usefull I'll check it out, I hadn't even thought about being tied to one dealer. Although the dealer was great it is quite a long drive for me so It's nice to be able to be flexable.

This is a great forum, everyone seems really friendly, I've never joined one before with any of my other cars but somehow this just seems special  xxx

Hi

Do you know how much the saving would roughly be?

Does the service plan just cover the 3 year service?

Also as it's my first car - When is the first service due??

Many thanks

Welcome to the Aygo club. 1st service is at 10k or 12 months, whichever happens first.

I have the servicing package with mine as I got it added for free when I bought the car... I probably wouldnt have bothered otherwise as generally speaking you can get your services done much cheaper at a Toyota Approved Service Centre - I saved almost £100 by taking my Yaris to a Nissan dealership for its last service, just so happened the Nissan dealership was Toyota approved! ;)

Interesting. How do you find a Toyota Approved Service Centre? I just googled and nothing much came up.

Do a search on Toyota.co.uk, they give you a list of all Toyota Approved centres and just call the ones closest and compare prices ;)
