Diesel Variations

For the first few tanks of diesel in my Yaris, I had filled up with Shell diesel and was averaging 55MPG, and it was creeping higher. Last week I filled up with diesel and Sainsbury's and I'm averaging 52MPG. The car was also a bit juddery at first too, but that has eased now.

I didn't think there was much difference in the brands of diesel, but I think I shall be sticking to Shell from now on, seeing as it's the same price as Sainsbury's anyway.

Yup deffo a huge difference.. My Hilux runs much much better on BP ultimate and Shell V power diesel then on the other stuff...

Don't get me wrong it runs fine on them all, but is noticeaably quieter and smoother of the two mentioned. seemed a little quicker on V power too..

Got 23 mpg on BP ultimate and 21 on BP regular :P

It actually runs smoother and quieter on vegetabe oil then most forecourt diesels.

About the worst I have come across is Morrisons fuel, used once and in the future will be emergency only!

Shell regular Diesel for me. Not tried the V power stuff yet, but i have been told don't put vege oil / bio fuel in the PD engined vw's.
