Help

im running an uprated sound system comprising of 3 pioneer amps pioneer 6*9s,10inch sub and pioneer components.

They are not run of a head unit but use line output converters from the OE speaker leads!

They are all earthed underneath the spare tyre

There is a whine that increases in pitch as the engine revs increase

I have tried everything that i can think of and have been recomended

-i have big four gauge earth wire and the is a good earth

-tried ground loop isolators

-wired phonos separate from power cables

-made sure all bare wiring is properly shielded

has anyone else had this problem or can recommened anything it would be much appreciated

alternator noise!

its an electrical influx caused by the electronic field generated by the 'nator

you need a suppresor fitting to it

Totally agree with Jaxx, need to get a supressor fitted. The alt/engine is causing interfence...higher the revs...faster she spins...the higher pitch the noise is.

vipes.

buy super shielded RCA cables...

buy a noise filter (RCA) which will sit at the stereo end.

that will solve your problem.

Hi,

In my previous owned Starlet I had the same problem. After a lot of searching and trying (even expensive RCA leads wouldn't help), I found out, that you probably can solve the problem by rerouting the cables on the other side of the car. In my Starlet the RCA leads where routed along a very thick red power lead that runs from the steering lock to somewhere inside the engine compartment or the injection computer. Putting distance between the RCA cable and the thick red one, and putting aluminium foil around the RCA cable seemed to solve my problem back then. Dunno if this is the same problem as yours though...

take your power cables away fromk the speaker cables and rca cables. if you absolutly HAVE to cross them do it at right angles. the speaker cables pick up the voltage change when your engine revs.

i have found out in the last couple of days, if the radio is on and the frequency is struggling to maintain the station, i can hear my Wiper Blades through the radio.

Like i said, only really noticed in the last couple of days when it has been raining hard and i have had the radio playing.

Not heard the engine before though
