Replacing The Battery In The Remote Key

Good Evening, the remote ignition key for my Toyota Avensis 2003 D4D TX-3 has recently started to play up I can only assume that the Battery needs replacing (I know how to do this) but what is worrying me is whether it will need reprogamming or whether it will function correctly once it has a new Battery installed.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted

i have substitute a cell and the remote runs well without programming.

hi, one of my keys has started playing up . just wondered how you got on :was it a case of undoing the screw in the fob and replacing the battery or do you have a time limit on getting it back together.

Remove the small screw on the rear, open the fob up, remove the small case and this needs to be pryed open with a small screw driver or similar.

With the back off you will see the Battery (will have a number on it ie 1616,2320 etc) you will need to buy the same type of Battery fitted.

Its pretty easy and if done in reasonable time the remote will still work without needing re-programming :)
