Radio & Cd Unit Problem

I have a 2004 (54) plate avensis T3s D4 D at times the radio goes crackly as if it needs to seek for a new station. Even when I put in a CD it still crackles, also sometimes when it is having one of its moments the volume appears to go up and down on the display but the crackly sound stays at the same level sometimes the volume goes loud on its own "spooky". The problem seems to come and go?

Hope someone can advise on what it may be or maybe you have had a similar problem.

That's a strange problem, especially with it affecting the CD player too.

Could be poor earthing perhaps.

Does it do it when the engine's not running? When the engine's running, does it vary according to engine revs, or how hard the engine is working?

You may have more luck seeking help on a specialist Car Audio forum as there might not be many people here who have experienced this particular problem.
